Sherri Anthony was a four-year starting point guard at Flagler from 1978-82 for Head Coach Dan Stewart, a Hall of Fame inductee in 2005. She helped lead the Saints to an 18-7 record and the AIAW State Title as a freshman. Flagler went on to play in the regional tournament, representing all the schools in Florida. As a senior, Anthony was selected as the team’s most valuable player. She still holds the career record for assists at Flagler with 368 and is 11th on the all-time scoring list with 751 points. Anthony also holds the school’s single-game assist record with 13 against the University of Miami. She also played slow-pitch softball for the Saints from 1979-81. Anthony served as the women’s basketball head coach from 1986-88 and the head softball coach from 1984-89. She won a school record 41 games in 1986 and was named Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season. Since her time at Flagler, Anthony has gone on to coach girls’ basketball at Allen D. Nease High School for the past 25 years. She has amassed a record of 421-269 with a 5A State Title, one final four appearance, three elite eights, three sweet 16’s, four district championships and nine district runners-up.
