The mission of the Flagler College Sports Performance Department is to deliver an all-encompassing, research-based training program and provide the highest standard of care and service possible to every Flagler College student-athlete. Additionally, the department and its coaches seek to set a standard of selflessness, accountability, integrity, notability, and tenacity. This standard will help cultivate a training environment that provides student-athletes opportunities with which to challenge themselves physically and psychologically in order to develop characteristics that will lead them to success as students, athletes, and people.
Training Philosophy
The Flagler College Sports Performance Department training philosophy involves utilizing ground-based, multi-joint, tri-planar, sport-specific movements in order to simultaneously decrease risk of injury while increasing athletic ability. We ensure that our programming methodology incorporates every aspect of sports performance including strength, power, agility, cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, and mobility. We also seek to provide our athletes with the guidance, information, and resources necessary to make educated decisions regarding sports nutrition, recovery, and physical/psychological well-being, thereby empowering our athletes to take ownership of their development both inside and outside of their respective sports.
