Peter Scott was Flagler's first head tennis coach in 1974. His best team record was in 1977 when the Saints won Flagler's first NAIA National Championship. In 1978, 1985 and 1988, the Saints won the NAIA Doubles Championship, and in 1986, the team brought home the next National Championship. Scott was recognized as the NAIA National Coach of the Year in 1978, 1985 and 1986. He also was named Coach of the Year from the Florida Professional Tennis Association. He retired from Flagler as the men's tennis coach in 1989 compiling a record of 441 wins and 186 losses.
