🎯 Mission Statement

The mission of the Flagler College Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is to operate a character-based athletics program that maintains nationally competitive teams in all sports, provides an outstanding athletics experience for all student-athletes, and adheres to the Core Covenants of accountability, integrity, professionalism, sportsmanship, and teamwork.

👁️ Vision Statement

The Flagler College Department of Intercollegiate Athletics provides an outstanding collegiate athletics experience for student-athletes, prepares student-athletes for successful careers beyond college, and is recognized as one of the top athletics programs in NCAA Division II. Through the recruitment and development of talented student-athletes, the provision of an excellent coaching and administrative staff, the implementation of a character-based athletics program, the strategic addition of selected sports offerings, the adequate funding of all sports programs, and the construction and maintenance of high-quality facilities, championship programs that consistently represent the institution in a positive fashion are built and maintained. Careful attention to marketing, promotions, game day operations and event atmosphere ensure a quality spectator experience at all Flagler College athletics events.

  • We operate in compliance with the spirit and the letter of all NCAA, Peach Belt Conference, and Flagler College rules, regulations, and policies;
  • We are honest and honorable in our interactions with teammates, opponents, colleagues, and the community;
  • We do not allow the heat of competition, or any other perceived pressure, to cause us to compromise our standards or values.
Professionalism ▼
  • We communicate respectfully and appropriately in all circumstances;
  • We exhibit a contagious enthusiasm for the institution and the department;
  • We address and overcome problems and challenges as they arise, not permitting negativity (complaining, gossiping, etc.) to invade our workplace or our teams;
  • We dress in an appropriate professional manner whenever representing Flagler College in an official capacity;
  • We are always on time to meetings and any other professional obligations;
  • We are responsible to administrative requests and directives, completing daily tasks in a timely manner;
  • We welcome and assist visiting teams and their staff, ensuring all game-day needs are provided for.
Sportsmanship ▼
  • We are gracious in defeat and humble in victory; We treat officials with respect;
  • We treat opposing coaches and student-athletes with respect. We do not engage in “trash talk”;
  • We implement innovative methods to intentionally display such good sportsmanship that Flagler College teams are distinct from others;
  • We do not interact with fans (home or opposing) during competition or in a negative manner at any time;
  • We give 100% effort 100% of the time;
  • We do not bend the rules or engage in gamesmanship to gain competitive advantages.
Teamwork ▼
  • We are supportive of our teammates (Athletics staff) personally and professionally;
  • We are willing to make sacrifices for the betterment of the team;
  • We embrace and exhibit a cooperative, collaborative attitude;
