Heloise Duffie de Tassigny of the women's indoor track and field team was selected as the recipient of the Total Package Award, sponsored by Anastasia Fitness, for the 2017-18 winter sports season.
The award is presented on a seasonal basis to the student-athlete who excels in each of the following: athletics, academics, character, sportsmanship, personal fitness and community involvement.
"In addition to carrying a 3.5 grade point average for the semester, Heloise splits her time as a French tutor as well as being a part of the International Student Club here at Flagler," said head women's indoor track and field coach Brian Beil. "Aside from academics, she is also a captain of the women’s cross country and indoor track teams.
"Coming off of her best cross country season thus far, Heloise was determined to do the same for indoor track accomplishing many feats. Her personal best time of 4:50.61 for the indoor mile was fast enough to advance her to the NCAA Division II National Championships having the fifth-fastest time out of a 20-woman field where she became the first female All-American in Flagler College history. She recently posted another personal best in the 1500m run laying down a time of 4:31.98 with still time to improve as she approaches the conclusion of her outdoor track season. She is currently the school record holder in the mile, 1500m, and 800m run. Heloise will be a senior next year finishing up a degree in business administration."Â
