Mike O'Reilly of the baseball team was selected as the TraveLynx Athlete of the Week, for the period ending May 15.
This is the second time this spring he has received the weekly award.
O'Reilly tossed six scoreless innings in Flagler's first game of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament. He allowed just two hits and two walks. O'Reilly struck out nine batters. He retired 11 of the first 13 batters he faced against one of the league's top offensive teams. Only one base runner, out of five, reached scoring position. O'Reilly was not involved in the decision.
O'Reilly finished the year with a 6-3 record and a 4.07 earned run average. In 90.2 innings pitched, he struck out 99 batters, which ranks fourth in the program's history, and allowed just 87 hits. O'Reilly only walked 20 batters.
