Sophie Wheeler of the women's golf team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week, for the period ending Oct. 18.

The Billericay, England native won the LeeAnn Noble Memorial in her first collegiate tournament. The freshman shot a 4-under 212 and her birdie on the par-3 17th hole in the final round sealed the title. Wheeler shot at 71 in the first round and followed that with a 68 in the same day. She finished with a 73 in Tuesday's final round. In the 54-hole tournament, she recorded 38 pars and 11 birdies. Her second round 68 is tied for the lowest round in the Peach Belt Conference this season and is sixth-lowest in the league's history. Wheeler was selected as the PBC Golfer of the Week, last Thursday. 

Wheeler and the Saints host the 18th annual Flagler Fall Slam next Monday and Tuesday at the Marsh Creek Country Club.
