Jay Laurienzo of the baseball team was selected as the TraveLynx Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending Mar. 31.

Laurienzo batted a team-high .500 going 9-for-18 at the plate as Flagler posted a 2-2 record last week. He hit one double and three home runs, which more than doubled his season total. Laurienzo went 3-for-6 with a pair of three-run home runs in an 11-5 win over Rollins, and then hit another three-run home run at Columbus State on Saturday that proved to be the game-winning hit.

For the season, Laurienzo is leading the team with a .398 batting average, total bases (61). slugging percentage (.656) and on-base percentage (.496). He is second on the team in home runs (5), doubles (9) and hits (37).
