Flagler College Athletics

Marley Smith of the women's basketball team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week for the period ending Jan. 12.

The Auburn, Illinois native led the Saints with a 15.0 points per game average and added 6.0 rebounds per game as Flagler won both of its games last week. She shot 56.3 percent from the field and 81.8 percent from the free throw line. Smith recorded her second double-double of the year with 15 points and 10 rebounds in a win over USC Aiken. She tallied 15 points in a win over Georgia College last Saturday.

For the season, Smith is averaging 9.0 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.
