Laura Kelly of the women's tennis team was selected as the TraveLynx Athlete of the Week, for the period ending April 24.
Kelly posted a pair of wins in singles, both match clinchers, in the Peach Belt Conference Women's Tennis Championships last weekend. Her 6-1, 6-4 win over Sarah Bernos clinched Flagler's 5-0 win over No. 50 USC Aiken in the quarterfinal round. She moved up to No. 5 singles in the third-place match against No. 19 Georgia College and won 7-5 and 6-2 over Katie Krupp to lead the No. 10-ranked Saints to a 5-1 win.
In doubles play, teamed with Lizanne Jinkertz, they went 2-1 at the PBC Championships.
For the season-to-date, Kelly is 11-1 in PBC singles matches and is undefeated in nine matches at No. 5 singles. Kelly and Jinkertz is 5-2 as a doubles team.
