Sara Davis of the volleyball team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week, for the period ending Nov. 6.
Davis helped guide Flagler to a 3-0 week as she recorded 33 kills (3.30/set), hit .346 and had 12 total blocks (1.20/set). She became the ninth player in the history of the Flagler program to eclipse the 1,000 kill plateau. Davis reached the milestone in the first set at Georgia College Friday night. In the Saints sweep of the Pirates last Wednesday, she contributed nine kills with four of those coming in the third set alone. Davis had another big third set at Georgia College where she recorded five of the team's 17 kills in the final set. In that match, Davis had 11 kills and five total blocks. At Augusta, she recorded a team-high 13 kills, hit .462 and had six blocks assists, which tied a season-high.
The Akron, Ohio native is third in the PBC in hitting percentage and solo blocks, fourth in total blocks, sixth in block assists, seventh in kills and blocks per set, and eighth in kills.Â
