Sara Davis of the volleyball team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week, for the period ending Oct. 16.
This is the second time this fall Davis has been chosen as the athlete of the week (Sept. 25).
The Akron, Ohio native led the Saints to a pair of Peach Belt Conference wins over the weekend. After being idle for nearly two weeks, Davis was able to pick up right where she left off as she averaged 3.00 kills per set and hit a sizzling .476 in wins over UNCP and Francis Marion. She also averaged 1.29 blocks per set. In the win over UNCP, Davis hit a red-hot .615 with eight kills on 13 errorless swings. Against Francis Marion, who just knocked off Armstrong State the day before, Davis led the team with 13 kills, hit .414 and had five total blocks. Her block in the fourth set gave Flagler set point (27-25).
Davis is second in the PBC in hitting percentage and blocks per set, third in solo blocks, seventh in block assists and total blocks as well as kills per set.
