Destiny McClendon of the women's basketball team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week for the period ending Jan. 7.

The junior guard led Flagler with a 23.0 points per game in average last week. She made 16-of-18 free throw attempts and shot 44.8 percent from the field. The Greensboro, Georgia native scored 29 points in a loss at Georgia Southwestern State University last Wednesday. She scored 14 of those points in the first quarter. McClendon added 17 more points in a 69-6 loss to the University of North Georgia last Saturday.

McClendon is third in the PBC in scoring (17.3 ppg) and leads the league with an 88.6 free throw percentage.
