Jacopo Denitto of the men's tennis team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sept. 25.

Denitto won the ITA Division II Southeast Regional singles competition on Monday. The Leccee, Italy native posted a 6-0 record in singles and defeated teammate Baptiste Merceier in the final. Denitto is the first men's player from Flagler, during the NCAA Division II era, to win the regional tournament.

During the tournament he knocked off the No. 1 and No. 5 seeds.
