Will Stone and
Luke Larkin of the Flagler College men's track and field team took advantage of the competition this weekend at the Duke Invitational at the Morris Williams Stadium.
Flagler brought five Saints to compete in 800 meter, 1500 meter and 5000 meter. Among the Saints competition was University of Connecticut, Coastal Carolina University, University of North Carolina and Villanova University.Â
The 800 saw Larkin pull out the best race yet of his career thus far. Placing 8th overall, Larkin set an NCAA Provisional in 1:49.48 which landed him the 11th fastest time in Division II this season. Stone, Andy Munnik and
Zach Brainerd also competed in the 800. Stone finished second for Flagler, landing in 46th place in 1:53.63. Munnik placed 84th in 1:55.58 while Brainerd placed 99th in 1:59.93.
Stone hit his provisional mark while competing in the 1500. Landing in 30th, Stone ran a 3:45.97 which put him at the 26th fastest time in DII. Munnik ran a 3:59.67 which placed him in 102nd.
Miquel Fons represented the Saints in the 5K. Running a 15:06.70, Fons placed 60th.
