JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Flagler College men's track and field team wrapped up the two day, River City Relays, meet this weekend at the University of North Florida.
The Saints filled the schedule, spanning across eight different events. Through the events, the Saints found six top five finishes.
Highlighted by the 800 meter,
Luke Larkin captured a tied first place and a third place finish. Larkin set an NCAA provisional time of 1:50.69, tieing UNF's Rashad Hemissi for first place. This is a new personal record for Larkin's four year career and the fastest time of the Saints thus far. Trailing Larkin was Carbone who placed third in a 1:51.13. Andy Munnik rounded out the top 10, placing seventh with a new best, 1:53.74.
The 1500 meter found similar excitement as Larkin yet again ran a new personal best 3:51.77. This earned the senior third place and was .66 off of second place. Munnik followed suite with his fourth place, 3:51.94 personal best. The 5000 meter run was led by
Ben Youngs who placed seventh in 15:45.93.
Adrian Abercrombie cracked the top 10, placing tenth in 16:18.54.
In Sprints, the 400 meter dash was led
Ian McGrorty. McGrorty finished a hair off of cracking 51, finishing in 15th place in 52.08.
Jared McDowell finished close behind, running a 52.96 which earned him 17th place. In a deep pool,
Collin Norton and
Logan Camara finished in 19th place in their respective races. Norton was the top finisher for the Saints in the 200 meter, running a 11.26, his second best mark of the season. Camara competed in the 400 meter, running his fastest time of the season in 22.95.
