SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Flagler College women's cross country team wrapped up their national championship trip to California, finishing in the top 25.
After a season filled with tremendous highs, the women's team capped off 2024 with their second national championship appearance in a row. Coming in to the race ranked No. 24 (USTFCCCA Top 30) in the nation, the women finished in 25th place out of a pool of 34 teams.Â
Taylor Stone topped her career season finishing 60th overall, scoring 54 points for the team. With a 6K time of 21:45.4, Stone finished with the best placement for a Saint in program history while at national championship since Heloise Duffie de Tassigny finished in 41st place in 2018.
With some big shoes to fill, Abigail Misch stepped up immensely for the Saints. With a time of 22:21.2, Misch took home 123rd overall and scored the Saints 104 points. Not far behind Misch was
Monique Whiteman. In her second national race appearance, Whiteman placed 151st in 22:39.8.
Enola Savel closed out the top 200 finishers with 183rd overall. Improving 12 places from last year, Savel crossed the line in 23:04.8.
Chloe Smith finished with a time of 23:52.6, placing her in 201st.Â
The last pack to roll in was
Clemence Treguer and Franzi Martens. Treguer come in 218th with a time of 23:47.7. In her first collegiate season, Martens came in 222nd place with a time of 23:51.3..
After a successful season, the women will look to keep the momentum going during the track season.
