ST. AUGUSTINE – Flagler College cross country and track athletes

Zoie Marchant,
Enola Savel,
Chloe Smith, and
Taylor Stone were named to the 2024-25 Academic All-District® team, as announced by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Team, selected by CSC, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the competition realm and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-July.
Hood, a senior criminology major, earned her second consecutive academic all-district honor. The Estero, Florida native is a three-time All-Peach Belt Conference honoree in track (4x400 relay). Hood was an academic all-conference selection in both cross country and track as well as a four-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll scholar. She was a two-time recipient of the D2 ADA award. Hood ran a leg on the 4x400 relay team that finished in second place in the PBC Championship last February.
Marchant, a junior biology and coastal environmental science major, received her first academic all-district honor. The Hazlehurst, Georgia native is a four-time all-conference athlete as she earned three of those honors in the outdoor 4x400 relay, the indoor mile, and the indoor distance medley relay and the other last fall in cross country. Marchant was named to the academic all-conference team in track this year and is a three-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll scholar. Marchant was a recipient of the D2 ADA award last year. She finished in 12
th place at the PBC Cross Country Championship with a career-best 5K time of 18:29.6. Marchant ran a leg on the DMR team that won the indoor title at the PBCs and finished third in the mile run. Marchant ran a leg on the outdoor 4x400 relay team that finished in third place at the PBCs.
Savel, a senior international business major, earned her first academic all-district accolade. The Limoges, France native was a three-time all-conference and all-region runner in cross country and has earned all-conference honors four times in track. She was a three-time academic all-conference honoree and a four-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll Silver Scholar. Savel finished in second place at the PBC Cross Country Championship with a career-best time of 17:43.4. She took home all-region honors after finishing in 15
th place with a time of 22:09.5, which was a personal-best in the 6K. Savel finished second in the 5,000-meter run at the PBCs in February. She finished in second place in the 10,000-meter run at the PBCs in April.
Smith, a junior digital media production and journalism major, received her second academic all-district honor. The Frisco, Texas native is a three-time all-conference runner in cross country and has earned four all-conference accolades in track. She is a two-time academic all-conference honoree in cross country and track and a three-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll Gold Scholar. Smith was a recipient of the D2 ADA award last year. She finished in 10
th place at the PBC Cross Country Championship and was third at the PBCs in the 3000 and 5000 meter runs in February. Smith took first place in the 10,000-meter run and third in the 3000 at the PBCs in April.
Stone, a senior economics major, earned her second consecutive academic all-district honor. The Largo, Florida native was the NCAA Division II Southeast Region and PBC individual champion in cross country last fall. She was a two-time all-conference runner in cross country and has received five plaudits from the league in track. Stone was a two-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll Silver Scholar and received academic all-conference accolades this year. She was a two-time NCAA Division II All-American in track and earned USTFCCCA All-Southeast Region honors in track.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
