ST. AUGUSTINE - The Flagler College men's and women's cross country teams announced the release of their 2025 schedule this week.
During the fall, the Saints will compete in five regular season races, followed by the Peach Belt Conference championship on Oct. 25, hosted by Georgia College & State University.
The season opener will have the Saints travel to Valdosta State University for the VSU Border Clash on Sept. 5 at Freedom Park.
The regular season is highlighted by a three meet stretch consisting of the Florida State University XC Invitational on Sept. 26, the Bulldog Stampede on Sept. 20 and the Lewis Crossover on Oct. 11. Historically, the Saints have competed at the prestigious FSU Invitational four of the past five years, with last years getting canceled due to inclement weather.
"We are heading up to Wingate University for the Bulldog Stampede to scout out the regional competition this year," head coach Brian Beil said. Last year the women placed second in the region, sending themselves to the NCAA DII National Championship. Despite the men's team tying Anderson University in points for third place, the Saints missed the championship berth, placing fourth in the region. The Saints will travel to Romeoville, Illinois, to compete in the Lewis Crossover, hosted by Lewis. "Many championship level teams will be competing at Lewis, this will give us good insight on the level of competition we expect to compete with."
The final race before the postseason will be at Florida Southern College for the Ed Holloway Classic on Oct. 17.
This year the NCAA Division II National Championship will be held at the Wayne E. Dannehl National XC Course, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Parkside on Nov. 22.
