Warren, Marchant excel at the River City Relays

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Flagler College women's track and field team finished the River City Relays with one first place finisher this afternoon at the University of North Florida.

The Saints saw action in seven different events, placing in the top three in three of them The sole first place finisher came from freshman Hanna Warren in the 5000 meter. In her first collegiate 5K, Warren ran a 17:51.86. Joining her on the podium was Mallory Robinson who smashed her previous best, running a 18:00.44 and earning third place. Jessie Gates also ran a personal best in her fifth place, 18:29.17 finish.

Dominating every race she competed in, senior Zoie Marchant first second and third in the 800 and 1500 meter. With two new personal bests, Marchant ran a 2:11.60 800 and a 4:38.95 1500. Clemence Treguer joined her teammate in the top 10, placing sixth in the 1500 in 4:42.56.

Megan Vreeland led the sprints squad as she competed in the 200 and 400. Setting a new personal record in 26.12, Vreeland placed 28th in a deep pool of runners. Placing 20th in the 400, Vreeland ran a 1:00.81. In her second 400 hurdles of her collegiate career, Sophia Paul placed 10th overall in 1:09.34.
