ORLANDO, Fla. - The Flagler College men's track and field team had their distance side compete at the University of Central Florida Black & Gold Challenge this evening at the UCF Track & Field Complex.
In a predominately Division I meet, Flagler competed against institutions such as the University of Kentucky, the University of North Florida, Holy Cross College, and Florida Gulf Coast University.
Taking part in the 10,000 meter run and the 5,000 meter run, the Saints landed three runners on the podium.
Francisco Ramirez had the best finish out of all the Saints, with his second place finish in the 5K. In a time of 14:36.09, Ramirez trailed only one runner from Kentucky and now holds the 10th fastest time in Division II.
Brandon Knieja placed third in the 5k, narrowly losing to Ramirez by .64 of a second.
Jon Eide pulled in a third place finish in the 10k. Splitting a pack of UNF runners, Eide finished in a time of 30:36.15 and now holds the third-fastest time in Division II.
