GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Flagler College women's track and field team took first in five events as they finish second in the 2025 Peach Belt Conference Championship yesterday at the Alachua Sports Complex in Gainesville.
For the second year in a row Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University takes first at the conference championship with 288 points. The Saints took home a program-high 110 points to take second while Clayton State University took third with 36 points. In fourth place, Lander University finished with 34 and USC-Beaufort finished fifth with 18 points.
Junior
Chloe Smith was this year's Elite 18 Award recipient after displaying excellence both on and off the track with her 4.0 grade point average.
Taylor Stone and
Monique Whiteman both went 2-2 on the day in their individual events. Stone capped off her indoor regular season by taking first in the 800 meter in 2:12.51 and in the mile with a 5:03.59. This 800 meter time is a NCAA provisional time and is the 39th fastest time in the country. Whiteman led the Saints in both the 3000 meter race, with a 10:51.16 and the 5000 meter race, with a 18:03.73.
Within the 3K, Abigail Misch placed second with a .80 second difference off of Whiteman, 10:51.96. Smith took the final podium spot in both the 3K and 5K, running a 10:55.90 and a 18:13.83.
Enola Savel found herself earning silver in the 5K after a 18:05.52 finish.
Both relay squads in the 4x400 meter dash and the distance medley earned hardware. Taking first in the DMR by an impressive 12:42.84 was
Iris Theunis,
Megan Vreeland, Franzi Martens and
Zoie Marchant. in the 4x400, the Saints pulled in second with a time of 4:00.87.
Maddi Hood came out of the blocks for the squad, followed by Whiteman, Stone, then Misch at anchor.
