ORLANDO, Fla.- The Flagler College men's track and field team earned several top-10 NCAA Division II Southeast Regional times at the University of Central Florida Knights Invite.
In the 1500m,
Joel Nesi led Flagler with a personal best time of 3:55.65 to place sixth. Nesi now holds the sixth fastest time in the NCAA Division II Southeast Region.
Brandon Knieja followed in ninth place with a time of 3:57.10, securing the seventh fastest time in the region.
Will Stone earned the ninth fastest time in the region with a 12
th finish at 3:58.30.
Francsico Ramirez clocked in at 3:59.36 in 14
th place, followed by
Jon Eide in 19
th at 4:05.40.
Max Bowlin placed 30
th with a time of 4:13.18.
Knieja, Stone, Ramirez, Eide and Bowlin all earned new personal best times.
Luke Larkin led the Saints in the 800m at 1:54.91 to secure eighth place. The freshman now holds the sixth fastest time in the region.
Brandon Knieja (1:59.23), Chase Mckee (2:00.63) and
Logan Burch were the next three Saints, coming in at 22
nd, 27
th and 30
th place.
Adrian Abercrombie took 43
rd with a time of 2:06.33.
Three Saints finished with a top-5 performance in the 3000m.
Ethan Tank's 9:02.99 finish secured second place and a new personal best time, while
Logan Seifert (9:08.14) came in third.
Dieumerci Ufitimana placed fourth with a personal best time of 9:14.13.
Gavin Ross came in sixth place at 9:28.72.
Michael Hayeck rounded out the Saints in 11
th place at 10:19.06.
In the 400m,
Tyrel Emig crossed the finish line with a personal best time of 53.13 to place 24
th. Chase Mckee followed in 33
rd at 55.27, while
Logan Burch took 34
th at 55.47, a new personal best.
In the 3000m steeplechase,
Christian Fernandez finished in third with a personal best time of 9:39.18.
Matt Lyons also ran a personal best time of 9:45.33 for fifth place.
Overall, the starting line hosted a variety of Division I, II, and NAIA schools.
Next, the Saints will travel to Daytona Beach for the Spikes Classic on March 31-April 1.
