Men’s Track & Field break school record

GAINESVILLE, Fla- Four Saints break a school record at the Alachua County Invitational in Gainesville, Florida on Friday.
 
In the 4000m distance medley relay, Brandon Knieja, Chase McKee, Francisco Ramirez and Joel Nesi ran a combined time of 10:08.15, cracking the previous school record time of 10:20.17. The squad finished in second place. Max Bowlin, Chris Canales, Logan Burch and Jon Eide placed sixth with a combined time of 10:46.18.
 
"I'm very happy with where we are right now," head coach of men's and women's cross country/ director of cross country and track Brian Beil said. "It's still very early, and we're already seeing some pretty great performances from our runners.  It speaks to the work they've been putting in during the vacation periods. Our goal is always to build off of the previous training cycle and continually improve from season to season."
 
In the mile run, Ethan Tank finished in 11th place with a time of 4:35.40. Logan Seifert and Michael Hayeck each earned a new personal best time 4:38.06 and 4:47.95 to finish in 16th and 21st place, respectively.
 
Adrian Abercrombie was the only Saint to compete in the 800m run. The freshman crossed the finish line at 2:09.74 to earn a new personal best time and finish in 17th place.
 
Next, the Saints will travel to Winston-Salem, North Carolina for the Camel City Invitational on Feb. 3-4.
