ST. AUGUSTINE – Flagler College jumped 10 places to finish in fifth with a 38-over par 902 at the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate, which concluded this afternoon at the St. Johns Golf & Country Club. The Saints were in 15^th place after the first round and had rounds of 296 and 292 in the last two.

Mauro Baez led the Saints with a 6-over 222 and finished in a tie for ninth place, his fourth top 10 finish of the year. He pocketed six birdies in the second round and had 10 in the entire tournament.

No. 11 (Golfstat Division II relative ranking) University of North Georgia won the team title with a 20-over 884. They held off the host team, No. 3 Lincoln Memorial University by four strokes. No. 20 Georgia Southwestern State University finished in third place with a 33-over 897. Anderson University finished in fourth place with a 36-over 900.

Topping the 112-man field was Evan Thompson of North Georgia. He carded a 7-under 209. Reece Coleman of Anderson finished in second place with a 3-under 213. Kristoffer Larsson of Limestone University was the only other golfer to break par as he shot a 1-under 215.  

Nic Whittaker finished in a tie for 17^th place with a 9-over 225. Andrew Porter finished one shot back of Whittaker and tied for 21^st place. Franco Piovano (+16) and Trey Wilson (+24) also played for Flagler.

Flagler heads to Las Vegas, Nevada for its next tournament, the Las Vegas Desert Classic, March 7-8.
