ST. AUGUSTINE – The Flagler College men's golf team chipped away at a 15-stroke deficit to start the final round, took the lead, only to wind up finishing in second place with a 13-under par 851 (285-290-276) at the 15th annual Jay Jennison Cup, which concluded at the King & Bear course at the World Golf Village (par 72; 7,279 yards).

Teams finished what was remaining from Monday's second round to start the day and finished with the final round. Rain and windy conditions were prevalent throughout the tournament.

Flagler's 12-under 276 in today's final round was the program's best since shooting a 16-under 272 at the Bearcat Classic, March 4, 2024.

The Saints hit the road for the D2 National Preview, Oct. 6-7, at Boulder City, Nevada.

Nic Eberhard finished one stroke back from the lead. He carded a 7-under 209 (70-71-68), which was his best performance since shooting the same score at the same Bearcat Classic in 2024. This was Eberhard's second top-five finish of his career. He had four birdies and 11 pars in the second round and followed that up with six birdies and 10 pars in the final round.

Rollins College topped the 18-team field with a 16-under 848 (282-278-288). Eckerd College followed Flagler in third place with a 9-under 855 (289-286-280). Barry University finished in fourth place with a 6-under 858 (284-296-278) and Nova Southeastern University rounded out the top five with an even par 864 (294-294-276).

Ivan Ponsdomenech of Nova Southeastern finished atop the 96-man field with an 8-under 208 (71-71-66). He jumped seven spots from the end of the second round to seize the lead. There was a four-way tie for third place with a 6-under 210.

Masen McKain posted a top 10 finish in his first tournament at Flagler. He shot a 5-under 211 (71-72-68) to finish in a tie for seventh place. Dylan Mason carded an even par 216 (71-75-70) and tied for 17th place. Rocco Randazzo and Julio Goti finished at 2-over and 6-over, respectively.

Members of Flagler's "B" team turned in some great scores. Lucas Escudero and PJ Herron both tied for 20th place with a 1-over 217. That was a career-best mark for Escudero and his final round 6-under 66 was the best round in his career. Herron also shot a 66 in the second round. Santino Berengeno finished at 4-over in his Flagler debut. Matthew French (+12) and Grant Fisher (+15) rounded out the team.
