AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference has announced its men's soccer weekly honors on Monday afternoon, and Flagler goalkeeper Ryan Rivas was named the PBC Goalkeeper of the Week.
 
"Ryan was brilliant this past week and demonstrated why we have put our trust in him for the last four years," said Flagler men's soccer head coach Thomas Coombes. "He steps up in big moments, and I am confident that this will be the first of many awards for him this season."
 
Rivas started both matches between the pipes last week and led the Saints to a 2-0 week. Flagler took down Georgia Southwestern in the PBC opener 2-0, before handling Clayton State over the weekend 3-1. In the midweek, Rivas notched his 21^st career clean sheet, which tied the school record set by Jon Jonsson in 1995. Rivas faced nine shots on the night, and smothered the only Hurricanes shot on goal. In the weekend cap, the senior faced 14 shots from the Lakers and hauled in seven saves. The Fort Lauderdale native held the visitors scoreless for 84 minutes before a late goal kept Rivas from his second straight shutout.
 
Rivas is one of the most decorated goalkeepers in school history, ranking tied for first in shutouts (21) and fourth in saves (203). A 2025 United Soccer Coaches First Team All-Southeast Region and First Team All-PBC selection, Rivas holds a 33-12-10 career record in goal for the Saints.
 
Flagler men's soccer returns to the pitch on Wednesday, September 16^th at USC Aiken. Kick off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. and fans can tune into the action on the Peach Belt Conference Sports Network. Following the midweek matinee, the Saints will return home for a marquee match on Saturday, September 19^th at 1:00 p.m. against No. 3 North Georgia.
