SAINT AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Flagler women's soccer team is set to kick off the 2026 season on Saturday, August 29^th as the Saints travel to Embry-Riddle for a 3:00 p.m. start. Fans can follow the action on the Sunshine State Digital Network here.
 
"Our squad is really excited to get our season underway Saturday afternoon against our local rival Embry Riddle," said Flagler women's soccer head coach Ashley Martin. "The group has worked hard this preseason and are physically ready for the challenge. Integrating 10 new players into the squad would normally be a tough task, but this group has connected well off the field and bought into the style of play on the field."
 
Flagler is coming off a 10-7-3 record last season, and 5-3-2 mark in Peach Belt Conference play. The Saints were picked No. 5 in the PBC Preseason Coaches' Poll after advancing to the conference tournament semifinals last year. Ashley Martin leads Flagler into his 13^th season, as the Saints have posted double digit wins in seven of the last nine seasons under his guidance.
 
Senior midfielder Avery Raimondo leads a Saints squad after being tabbed Preseason All-Conference. Last season, Raimondo started 15-of-20 matches and netted three goals with two assists. Fellow seniors Haley Stafford and Brooke Rienecker will step into key leadership roles. Stafford started 18-of-20 matches last season and dished out a team-high six assists, a mark that ranked fifth in the conference. Rienecker started 12 matches last season for the Saints and netted three game-winning goals, which ranked sixth in the conference.
 
The junior duo of Ella Gimbicki and Analena Jacob return to the Saints roster. Gimbicki started 16-of-18 matches played last season and netted a pair of goals and distributed two assists. Jacob made 14 appearances on the season and dished out an assist at Middle Georgia State.
 
A trio of sophomores, including Hannah Hughes, Riley Wills, and Ashley Wagner returned after seeing valuable minutes as freshmen. Hughes started 4-of-19 matches and finished with a goal and an assist. Wills saw valuable minutes, appearing in 17 matches and logging 526 minutes on the pitch. Wagner returns after starting 7-of-12 matches and distributing an assist last season.
 
The incoming freshmen class features eight newcomers that will provide key depth and valuable minutes. Netanya Brown, a native of Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada will provide speed on the attack as an incoming striker. Ava Scott, an incoming midfielder, helped Severna Park High School to three straight undefeated seasons and three consecutive state titles. In goal, Barcelona, Spain native Irina Barron-Gomez will have an opportunity to make a huge impact in her first year.
 
The Saints will open the 2026 season with four straight matches on the road before returning home for their home opener against Middle Georgia on Saturday, September 12^th. Admission to all Flagler home events is free for Flagler students, faculty, staff, and St. John's County residents.
