Five Saints receive academic all-district honors

ST. AUGUSTINE – Flagler College's Presley Ancheta, Bella Faherty, Paige Churchill, Arianna Silva, and Grace Simon were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® team, according to a release yesterday afternoon.
 
The 2025 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

To be eligible, student-athletes are nominated for academic all-district and must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher. Also, student-athletes must be a starter and/or a key reserve. 

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced December 16 (men) and December 17 (women).

Ancheta, a sport management major with a marketing minor, played in 20 matches with 15 starts and scored one goal with two assists for four points. The Little Elm, Texas native is a two-time Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll scholar and was a recipient of the D2 ADA award last year.

Faherty, a sport management major, played in 18 matches with 10 starts and scored one goal with four assists for a total of six points. The Jensen Beach, Florida native played her first year for the Saints after transferring from Jacksonville University.

Churchill, a sociology major with a minor in psychology, led the team with 10 goals and she tallied one assist in the 17 matches that she started. The Tallahassee, Florida native earns her second all-district honor and is a two-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll Gold Scholar. Churchill was a D2 ADA award recipient last year.

Silva, a criminology major with a psychology minor, started all 20 matches and she tallied one assist. The North Arlington, New Jersey native is a three-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll Gold Scholar and a two-time D2 ADA award recipient.

Simon, a sociology major, started all 20 matches and scored her first collegiate goal. The Brighton, Michigan native earned PBC Presidential Honor Roll Gold Scholar honors as well as being a D2 ADA award recipient last season. She was a two-time Sunshine State Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll member at Barry University.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
