AUGUSTA, Ga. – Flagler College's
Riley Rowe was selected as the Peach Belt Conference's Freshman of the Week for the period ending May 10, as released by conference officials.
The Grand Rapids, Ohio native appeared in two of Flagler's three games last week and posted a 2-0 record with a 0.57 earned run average. Rowe helped defeat Georgia Southwestern State University as she tossed a complete game, allowing three hits, and giving up one run with three strikeouts last Friday night. On Saturday, Rowe tossed 5.1 scoreless innings in relief, giving up two hits with two strikeouts. She retired nine of the last 11 batters she faced.
Rowe is fifth in the Peach Belt in strikeouts looking (28), seventh in innings pitched (132.0), and ninth in saves (1).
Flagler heads to Dahlonega, Georgia for the Peach Belt Conference Tournament on Friday where it will open against the host school and regular season champion, the University of North Georgia, at 4 p.m.
