AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference released the softball tournament bracket yesterday and Flagler College is the No. 8 seed. The single-elimination tournament starts on Friday at Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium at Dahlonega, Georgia.

Flagler closed out the regular season with a 14-35 overall record and a 10-17 mark in the Peach Belt. The Saints open the tournament on Friday against the No. 1 seed and regular season champion, the University of North Georgia (42-8, 22-5) at 4 p.m. The video is on a pay-per-view basis and tickets to the event are $12 for ages six and over. Admission is free for those who have PBC Sports Passes, or you are a student with a valid ID from a PBC institution, or you are a child five years old or under. All ticket sales will be done through Hometown Ticketing.

The Saints and Lady Cougars met three times this year, all at "The Hill." The Nighthawks swept the series (4-0, 10-1, and 4-2). Stephanie Daly hit .500 in the series going 4-8 with a double and one run batted in. Hannah Smith collected four singles and hit .444 with one RBI. Emily Ricci hit three singles and scored a run. Ava Matthews posted a 4.20 earned run average in the circle.

The Nighthawks batted .362 as a team in the series and was led by Jenna Miles and Carleigh Knowles who both went 4-for-8. Miles scored two runs and drove one in while Knowles hit a double, scored two runs, and had two RBI. Sydnee Reaves batted .444 as she went 4-for-9 but hit one triple and two home runs to post a 1.333 slugging percentage. Reaves scored five runs and knocked in four more. Chloe Poss made two appearances in the circle and went 2-0 with a 0.54 ERA. She fanned 14 in 13 innings pitched.
