DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Keagan Perez (3-0) retired the first 12 batters he saw as Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University defeated Flagler 11-0 in a non-conference baseball game Tuesday afternoon at Sliwa Stadium.
Embry-Riddle improved to 20-24 while Flagler dropped to 33-16. The Saints open the Peach Belt Conference Tournament against Georgia Southwestern State University at 5 p.m. on Friday at Dahlonega, Georgia.
Perez faced the minimum over 5.1 innings as he allowed just one hit and struck out four batters.
The Eagles scored four in the first, four in the third, one in the fifth, and two more in the sixth inning.
Embry-Riddle scored its first run of the game on a bases loaded walk and Dylan Bruno followed with a two-run single.
Collin Mastromauro led the Eagles with three singles and three runs batted in. Aidan Corn added a pair of singles, scored a run, and drove in another. Max McClusky collected two singles and scored two runs.
Aaron Zenus (3-3) surrendered eight runs (three earned) on seven hits in 2.2 innings pitched to take the loss for the Saints.
Eli Maddox broke up the perfect game with a single to lead off the fifth inning.
Holden Bradshaw added an infield single in the sixth.
