ST. AUGUSTINE – The Flagler College baseball team will open this weekend's Peach Belt Conference Tournament as the No. 4 seed. The tournament is split into two different pods that are double-elimination. Flagler will play at Bob Stein Stadium at Dahlonega, Georgia. The 1,4,5, and 8 seeds will all play there. The other pod is at Greenwood, South Carolina. The winners of the two pods will meet in a best-of-three series, May 7-8.

Flagler (33-15 overall, 20-10 in the PBC) opens against the No. 5 seed Georgia Southwestern State University on Friday at 5 p.m. Live video is available but will be on a pay-per-view basis. There will be free admission for students with a valid ID from a PBC school and children 5 and under. Fans can buy a ticket package. Upon purchase of the package, customers will receive three (3) total tickets, one (1) ticket for each day: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Flagler took the series at Georgia Southwestern, 2-1. The Saints won the opener 14-1 and the rubber game, 12-8. The Hurricanes walked off the middle game, 10-9.

The Saints hit .336 with 40 hits, including 10 doubles and three home runs. AJ Hunerberg feasted on GSW's pitching going 8-for-15 with a pair of doubles, seven runs batted in, and he scored five runs. George Gilson boasted a 1.000 slugging percentage as he hit a pair of doubles as well as a pair of home runs. He had a .467 batting average against the Hurricanes. Flagler's pitching staff posted a 5.74 earned run average. CJ Hanson contained their offense as he only allowed one run on six hits in seven innings. Brayden Matthews made two relief appearances and fanned seven in 3.1 innings pitched.   

Devon Murphy hit .455 in the series against Flagler. He posted a 1.091 slugging percentage as he hit a double and a pair of home runs. Murphy collected eight RBI. Johnny Nutt posted a 1.50 ERA, but he surrendered seven runs (one earned) on nine hits.
