WINTER PARK, Fla. – Jayden Brown belted a grand slam in Rollins College's nine-run fourth inning in a 14-1 win over Flagler College in a non-conference baseball game Wednesday afternoon at Alfond Stadium.
Rollins won its eighth game in a row to improve to 10-4 overall. Flagler had its four-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 12-3. The Saints welcome the University of South Carolina Aiken with the three-game series starting on Friday at Drysdale Field.
Collin Hughes led the Tars going 3-for-3 with a double, three runs scored, and one run batted in. Seven different Rollins players had at least one hit.
Coby Vallee (1-0) was credited with the win as he started and tossed three scoreless innings in a predetermined split by Rollins. Four other pitchers worked in relief.
Trenton Snyder collected a pair of singles for the Saints.
Brayden Fox hit an RBI-single in the seventh to break up the shutout.
Brayden Matthews (1-2) allowed five runs on five hits in 2.2 innings pitched.
Drew Rosenberg,
Evan Scott,
Dominick Patruno, and
Keegan Leckband all pitched for the Saints.
