COLUMBUS, Ga. –
CJ Hanson (2-1) tossed a complete game four-hit shutout to help Flagler College defeat Columbus State University 11-0 in a Peach Belt Conference baseball game Friday evening at Burger King Stadium at Ragsdale Field.
Flagler won its seventh game in a row and improved to 7-1 overall and 1-0 in the Peach Belt. The last time the Saints won their conference opener was March 4, 2022, when they defeated Augusta University, 2-0, at Drysdale Field. Columbus State dropped to 1-6 overall and 0-1 in league play. The two teams will finish the series Saturday in a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
Hanson fanned six batters and retired 14 of the last 17 batters he faced. He retired nine batters on ground outs and five more on fly outs.

George Gilson in the first inning game Flagler the early lead.
The Saints struck for two in the third and three more in the fourth before erupting to plated five runs in the sixth inning. Three straight run-scoring singles by Gilson,
Eli Maddox, and
Tripp Davis highlighted that sixth inning. The game was stopped after seven innings due to the 10-run rule.
Gilson went 3-for-4 with a home run, four runs batted in, and he scored two runs.
Jesse Sullivan collected three singles and scored two runs.
Trenton Snyder went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored, and he knocked in two runs.
Connor Folds (0-2) allowed seven earned runs on eight hits in five-plus innings of work.
Bryce Knox accounted for three of the four Cougar hits, all singles.
