COLUMBUS, Ga. - The No. 7-ranked (ITA Division II Women's Top 50) Flagler College women's tennis team made quick work of Georgia Southwestern State University this afternoon at the John W. Walden Tennis Center, to move on to the semifinal round of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament with a 4-0 sweep.
The Saints closed out the first round of the tournament with a 19-4 record, extending their winning streak to four. The Hurricanes closed out their season with a 3-10 record. The next match for the Saints will be played tomorrow at 1 p.m. against the No. 3 seed, Columbus State University.

Laura Jipescu won by walkover to start the Saints campaign off with a head start. No. 3
Dana Heimen and
Anastasia Nikolova swept Monique Gundrum and Ustina Schyslionak, 6-0, to advance to singles with a 1-0 lead.
Playing to clinch, three of the Saints matches went unfinished, with the Saints leading in all of them. Winning by walkover yet again was
Laura Jipescu who reeled in the second point for the Saints. Sweeping her opponent 6-0 in both sets, Balsera defeated EmmaRae Smith to extend the lead. The clinching match came from No. 34 Nikolova who also swept Melissa Duerte 6-0 in both sets.
