ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The Flagler College women's tennis team saw sophomore Elena Ondobo earn Intercollegiate Tennis Association(ITA) All-America in singles play earlier this week, according to organization officials earlier this week.

Since 2020, the women's tennis program has had at least one player named ITA All-America. The program now holds eight ITA DII All-Americans, six of which earned the distinction in singles play.

Ondobo entered her first year as a Saint after spending her freshman year at Montevallo University. Boasting the highest win percentage by a Saint this season, Ondobo ended the year with a 32-6 record which landed her a .842 win percentage. Playing solely on court two in dual matches, Ondobo went 19-4 and 8-0 in conference play. Currently on a 12 match win streak, the Brussels native has not lost a match since Mar. 22. Against nationally ranked opponents, Ondobo had a 4-1 record, with her highest ranked win coming against No. 6 Alexa Milliam of No. 5 University of West Alabama on Feb. 20 where she won 7-6(7-2) and 6-3. For 22 consecutive matches, Ondobo competed as a top-20 ranked player, peaking at No. 9 for one week. The court two specialist finished her season at No. 13, a rank she has held for a total of two weeks.
