Saints wrap up the Spartan Relays

TAMPA, Fla. - The Flagler College women's track and field team finished the Spartan Relays yesterday, held at Pepin Stadium on the campus of the University of Tampa.

The Saints will take on the Embry-Riddle Running Elements Classic next week on April 3-5 at Daytona Beach, Florida.

Competing in eight events, the Saints had a wealth of success across the board, led by freshman Franzi Martens. Martens was the best finisher for Flagler as she placed second in the 800 meter run in a time of 2:22.24. Marissa Kempf followed close behind Martens, placing fourth in the 800 at a time of 2:24.79.

In the 100 meter hurdles, Zoe Zinnie found the podium, taking third in a time of 15.79. Coming in fourth place was Courtney McGough who crossed the line in 16.40. In the 400 meter hurdles, Aaliyah Jordan placed fourth overall in a time of 1:07.58. In her first collegiate mile, Blair Fowler place first for the Saints and fifth overall with a time of 5:33.55.

The last event of the day where the Saints earned some hardware was in the 4x400. Jordan, Megan Vreeland, Tessa Thompson and Sara Miller placed second overall, coming in with a time of 4:24.36.
