ST. AUGUSTINE – A three-run fourth inning propelled Georgia College & State University to a 7-3 win over Flagler College in a Peach Belt Conference game Sunday afternoon at Drysdale Field.
Georgia College improved to 17-14 overall and 10-2 in the Peach Belt. Flagler fell to 21-8 overall and 7-5 in conference play. The Saints host Florida Tech on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Gabe Wuerth hit a one-out double to right field to get the fourth started for the Bobcats. He took third as a pickoff attempt at second base got away. Ben Hamacher and Braeden Smith followed with walks to load the bases. A passed ball allowed each runner to move up a base and Wuerth's run put GCSU on top for good at 4-3. After a strikeout, Evan Cowan hit a double down the left field line to score the other two runs.
The Saints had the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth with two outs, but Lex Kenny struck out the last batter to end the game.
Mason Brown (5-0) allowed two earned runs on six hits in seven innings of work to get the win.
Hamacher collected two singles, scored a run, and he finished with two runs batted in. Matthew Mebane had two singles and scored a run. Cowan went 2-for-4 with the double, two RBI, and he scored a run.
Daniel Fischer (2-1) took the loss on the hill after surrendering five earned runs on seven hits in 3.2 innings.

Steven Reiss, and
Jake Hill all worked in relief.
Taylor Shultz collected two singles for the Saints.
