ST. AUGUSTINE –
Griffin Moore scored a hat trick to lead No. 10 (USILA Division II Top 20) Flagler College to a 12-9 win over Lynn University in a non-conference men's lacrosse game this afternoon at the Flagler Lacrosse Field. The game had a lengthy delay due to lightning in the area.
The Saints extended their winning streak to eight games and moved to 9-1 on the season. The Fighting Knights dropped to 5-2 overall. Flagler will return on Friday at 7 p.m. to host Molloy University.
Flagler came out strong, creating an early lead of 6-3 to end the first half of the game.
Lynn began to close the gap in the third quarter by scoring four goals. Two came from Brian Hoskins. Hoskins led the team with four goals.
This late surge brought Lynn within a goal of Flagler. However, the Saints never let go of the lead and goals from
Dylan Wilson and
Parker Collins at the end of the fourth quarter secured the victory.
Although they were outscored, Lynn's goalie Hunter Klosterman stood out with 16 saves.
Flagler defense stood strong with
Ty Scheckenbach causing three turnovers and collecting four groundballs.
Matt Mitrega won 11 face-offs and collecting six groundballs.

Josh Stevens made three.
