ST. AUGUSTINE –
Jesse Sullivan drove in four runs and the Flagler pitching staff struck out 13 batters in a 9-1 win over Eckerd College in a non-conference baseball game Friday night at Drysdale Field.
Flagler improved to 6-2 overall while Eckerd dropped to 2-6. The same two teams meet in a doubleheader at 1 p.m. tomorrow.
Back-to-back RBI singles Sullivan and
Kevin RisCassi put the Saints on top 2-0 after one inning.
Flagler added three more in the third as
Caden Kresak started it all with a squeeze bunt.
Sullivan hit a two-run single in the fourth and Kresak's infield single scored another in the sixth.
Ben Stubbs (2-0) shut down the Tritons, holding them to a run on two hits in 5.1 innings. He struck out a career high nine batters and he held Eckerd without a hit for 5.1 innings.
Ethan Bobo tossed three scoreless innings and
Isaiah Wellman closed the game.
AJ Hunerberg collected three singles and scored two runs for Flagler. Kresak singled twice, scored two runs, and drove in a run.
Dearl Edens (0-1) tossed four innings and allowed five earned runs on nine hits to get the loss. He fanned five batters.
Dawson Jones and Christian Perez each collected two singles for the Tritons.
