Four Saints earn academic all-district honors

ST. AUGUSTINE – Flagler College's Cassidy Bloom, Gracie Fleming, Katherine Rank, and Clare Sheedy of the volleyball team were selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® team, according to a release on Tuesday.
 
The 2025 Academic All-District® Volleyball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced January 9. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed at the links above.

Bloom, an accounting major, has a 3.74 cumulative grade point average (GPA), and this is her second consecutive academic all-district honor. The senior from Naples, Florida is a two-time Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll scholar as well as being a two-time D2 ADA award recipient, and was an academic all-conference honoree in 2024. Bloom recorded 328 kills, had 36 aces, and 306 digs. She was a second team all-conference selection this season.  

Fleming, a marketing major, has a 3.57 GPA. The junior from Denver, Colorado is a two-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll scholar and was a recipient of the D2 ADA award last year. Fleming was an academic all-conference selection in 2024. She finished with 279 kills and had a .340 hitting percentage. Fleming led the team with 96 total blocks and 0.77 blocks per match. She was a second team all-conference selection this season.

Rank, a political science major, has a 3.74 GPA. The Parker, Colorado native was a second team all-conference selection and earned all-tournament honors this year. Rank transferred to Flagler from the University of New Haven. Rank was an All-Northeast 10 Conference selection in 2024 and was a two-time NE10 Academic Honor Roll honoree. She recorded 322 kills and was second on the team with 81 total blocks. Rank averaged 0.63 blocks per match.   
 
Sheedy, a political science major, holds a perfect 4.00 GPA. The senior from Plymouth, Indiana native was selected as the PBC Setter of the Year, took home first team all-conference honors, and was named to the all-tournament team for both the conference and regional tourneys. She was a PBC Presidential Honor Roll Gold Scholar last year and was a recipient of the D2 ADA award. Sheedy tallied 1,378 assists, which averages to 10.52 per match. She finished fourth in the nation in total assists and 22nd in assists per set. Sheedy had a team-high 48 service aces.    

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
