WINGATE, N.C. - The Flagler College volleyball team ended their season in the second round of the NCAA Southeast Regional after their 3-1 (25-21, 21-25, 25-27, 14-25) loss to No. 14 and tournament host, Wingate University, this evening at the Cuddy Arena & Thomas Koontz Family Court.
The Saints impressive season came to an end with a 22-13 overall record. The Saints tied their last season's advancement to the semifinal round and is their furthest since the 2020 season. The Bulldogs improve their record to 30-1.
A balanced offense led by
Marley Middlebrooks saw the sophomore cap off her season with a 15 kill and 12 dig double-double.
Katherine Rank and
Cassidy Bloom found 11 kills a piece.
Amelia Fitzpatrick set a team high 15 digs. In her final match as a Saint,
Clare Sheedy finished at the top again, as she set a match high 45 assists along with seven kills.
Meredith Dixon and
Gracie Fleming tied for a team high in blocks as they both found a piece in six.
The Bulldogs were led by Gabby Saye who had a match high 19 kills on a .643 hitting percentage. One block shy of a double-double, Sydney Morland finished 11 kills. Maddie Hoffman finished with a match high 22 digs while Maya Van Heyst put up a team high 44 assists.
