Stone leads the Saints to a 32nd place finish at the national championship

KENOSHA, Wis. - The Flagler College men's cross country team finished 32nd at the NCAA Cross Country National Championship this morning, held at the Wayne E. Dannehl National XC Course.

The Saints were one of seven teams to enter the championship unranked. Among the 262 runners competing, they represented 56 different institutions. Flagler finished with a point total of 770 which tied No. 22 Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Will Stone was the workhorse for the Saints as he was the lead finisher and only Saint to score double digit points, scoring 93. Stone set a season high 10k time with his 31:47.5 finish, earning him 109 place.

Brandon Knieja and Kaleb Hollins were the final Saints to finish in the top 200 runners. Setting a new personal best 32:19.7, Knieja placed 162 overall and earned 143 points. Hollins also ran his best 10k of the season with his 32:30.9 finish. Hollins scored 164 points after placing 185 overall.

Luke Larkin and Bryce Dufrene finished together and were the final Saints to earn points toward the team total. Larkin competed in his first collegiate 10k and set his new standard at 32:49.4. Scoring 184 points, Larkin finished in 205 place. Dufrene finished on Larkin's heels, placing 207 with a time of 32:51.2. The final Saint to finish was Logan Burch who placed 241 in 33:38.5.
