Mills cracks the top 10 at the Ed Holloway Classic

LAKELAND, Fla. - Tori Mills led the women's cross country team through their final regular season race this evening at the Ed Holloway Classic, hosted by Florida Southern College.

The Saints faced 12 teams ranging from NAIA to Division I. Stetson University, Florida International University, Florida Gulf Coast University and Florida Atlantic University were some of the institutes in attendance. Among the 12 schools were 71 competitors.

Mills finished the race with a ninth place finish. Through her performance, she shattered her previous 6k personal best with a new 23:24. Jessie Gates also finished in a respectable 11th place after placing a new personal best 23:30.

Running as a pack, Natalie Bowman and Caroline Kunik took 21st and 22nd overall. Both Bowman and Kunik added to their personal bests with a 24:28 and 24:40 finish. Vivian Brezler and Blair Fowler finished in 25th and 26th with Brezler crossing the line in 25:05 and Fowler in 25:07. Sofia Galvan was the last Saint to set a new personal best, as she finished in 25:59, earning a 34th place finish.

The Saints will set their eyes on the Peach Belt Conference Championship next weekend on Oct. 25 at Bobcat Cross Country Course.
