MORROW, Ga. – Flagler College's
Destin Clark recorded the program's first-ever triple-double as he scored 13 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and tallied 10 assists in a 91-64 triumph over Clayton State University in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball game Saturday afternoon at The Loch and Mason Barfield Court.
Flagler improved to 9-6 overall and evened its record to 3-3 in the Peach Belt. The 27-point victory was the largest margin in the series history and was the Saints 11
th win a row over the Lakers. Clayton State lost its fifth game in a row and dropped to 6-10 overall and 0-6 in conference play. Flagler hosts Columbus State University on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Flagler Gym.
The Saints took control of the game on Clark's layup with 7:31 to go. That broke a 17-all tie and started a 19-6 run to close out the half. Flagler led 36-23 at the break.
Flagler led by as many as 31 in the second half as the team made 73.3 percent (22-30) of their shots from the field.
The Saints were opportunistic as they turned nine Laker turnovers into 16 points. Flagler dominated in the paint out-scoring Clayton State 50-26.
Jaylen Jordon scored a season-high 23 points as he made 10-of-12 from the floor.
Josiah Shackelford added 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting.
Jax Bouknight added 13 points and tallied four assists.
Yannis Woods led Clayton State with 12 points while DJ Wright added 10 points, six assists, and four rebounds.
