AUGUSTA, Ga. – A 22-4 run early in the first half propelled Augusta University to a 102-71 victory of Flagler College in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball game Wednesday night at the Christenberry Fieldhouse.
Augusta improved to 10-5 overall and 4-1 in the Peach Belt. The Jaguars have won 10 of their last 11 games. Flagler is now 8-6 overall and 2-3 in conference play. The Saints head to Morrow, Georgia on Saturday to face Clayton State University.
Max Hrdlicka sank a three-pointer to cut Flagler's deficit to three (12-9) with 15:42 left in the first half. Augusta scored the next six points to start the 22-4 run that lasted 5:12. Max Amadasun capped the spurt with a layup to give the Jaguars a 34-13 lead with 10:11 left in the half.
Hrdlicka made four 3-pointers for 12 points and he grabbed four rebounds.
Hoku Fisher added 12 points while
Jax Bouknight finished with 11 points, six assists, five rebounds, and three steals.
Trevur Smalls grabbed a team-high six rebounds.
Demitri Gardner scored a game-high 28 points on 12-of-17 shooting from the field and he corralled five rebounds. Amadasun recorded a double-double with 18 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. John St. Germain III contributed 16 points and dished out seven assists.
The Jaguars shot 60.9 percent (42-69) from the field in the game, which included a 69.7 percent (23-33) mark in the first half.
