AUGUSTA, Ga. – Flagler College had three athletes named to the Peach Belt softball all-conference teams with Kathryn Grant named Co-Coach of the Year, announced by conference officials Thursday night.
Freshman Hannah Smith and junior Sydney Stewart earned first team honors. Smith holds a .369 batting average to conclude the regular season. The Palmetto, Georgia native is 58-for-157 with 30 runs scored and 29 runs brought in. She adds 10 doubles and four home runs. Smith earned PBC Freshman of the Week twice and held the longest hitting streak for the Saints this season at 15 games.
Stewart leads the conference in runs scored with 57 and doubles with 18 in the regular season. The Forston, Georgia native posted a .382 batting average and went 65-for-170 with 57 runs scored and 43 runs brought in. In addition to her 18 doubles, she knocked three triples and eight home runs. She holds the single season doubles and runs record for Flagler.
Madelyn Wise was named to the all-conference second team at-large. The senior has appeared in 33 games during the regular season with a 11-2 record. The Edgefield, South Carolina native posted a 2.75 earned run average (ERA) to conclude the regular season, totaling 101.2 innings pitched, facing 464 batters and striking out 105. She leads the Flagler all-time appearance record with 115. She is fourth in complete games with 26 and starts with 54. She is third in innings pitched and strikeouts with 342 in her career. Wise was named PBC Pitcher of the Week twice this season. She is third in the conference in ERA, batters struck out looking (31) and saves (4).
Grant led Flagler to their first 30-win season since 2019 to finish the regular season 32-20 and tied for third in the conference standings. Flagler is ranked in the PBC's top four in batting average and ERA and lead the league in fielding percentage. Currently in her seventh season at the helm, Grant wins the PBC Coach of the Year honor for the first time and becomes the second Flagler coach to claim the award.
