Saints improve standings with personal bests at Eagles Invite

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Flagler College men's outdoor track and field team competed in the Embry-Riddle Eagles Invite on Saturday for a last chance to improve their marks. The Saints had a strong showing with two athletes hitting the NCAA DII Provisional mark in the 1500m. 
 
Kaleb Hollins and Will Stone led the Saints in first and second in the 1500m, both beating out the previous school record time and hitting the provisional mark. Hollins finished with a time of 3:46.26 that ranks him 11th in the nation and second in the region. Stone sits at seventh in the region and 31st nationally with a time of 3:47.92.
 
The field events saw improvements for Casey Wood, Kruz Jimenez and Malik Edwards. Wood improved his discus throw to a 40.53m mark, placing fourth, moving him up to fifth in the conference. Jimenez improved his long jump and earned second, with a 6.60m jump that sits him in 9th in the conference, but with a bigger lead over the 10th place individual. Edwards competed in the triple jump for the first time in the outdoor season, placing third with his 12.73m jump that puts him at eighth in the conference. 
 
In the 100m, Ryan Sen ran a 10.78 for a fifth-place finish. His new time puts him at fifth in the conference, previously ranking outside of the top 10. Caden Vann finished behind him in seventh also with a personal-best time of 10.89 that ranks him seventh in the conference. 
 
The 200m saw a fifth-place finish and personal-best for Sen whose time of 22.35 sits tied at 10th in the conference. All four of the other Saints running in the 200m hit personal-best marks. Malik Edwards placed eighth with a time of 22.49, Amonyay Prichard (22.92) in 13th, Christian McFarlane (22.94) in 14th and Ian McGrorty (23.11) in 15th. 
 
John Carbone ran an outdoor best time of 1:54.99 in the 800m. His time puts him at seventh in the conference, with three other Saints ahead of him, and 18th in the region. Zach Brainerd (1:58.48) and Houston Harper (1:59.16) placed back-to-back at 11th and 12th, respectively.
 
The 400 hurdles saw personal-best times for all four Saints that competed. Reuel Belizaire placed fourth with a time of 57.44, ranking him 25th in the region and moving up to eighth in the conference. David Stanley was next in fifth with a time of 57.49 that puts him at ninth in the conference. Finishing in eighth was Kruz Jimenez with a time of 59.34 and Conner Hall in 10th with a time of 1:00.68. 
 
The rest of the 1500m group saw three more personal-best times in Logan Burch, Ethan Tank and Max Bowlin. Burch finished in sixth with a time of 3:55.20 that puts him 21st in the region and eighth in the conference. Tank finished in 13th with a time of 4:01.97 and Bowlin behind him in 14th with a time of 4:02.24. Francisco Ramirez placed 22nd with a time of 4:07.70, Joshua Sea (4:11.22) in 27th and Vaughn Blanchet (4:36.66) in 40th. 
 
Malik Edwards and Xander Cunningham hits personal-best times in the 400m with fourth and sixth place finishes, respectively. Houston Harper finished in second for the Saints with a time of 50.15. Edwards ran a 50.54 and Cunningham a 50.85, with Malachi South (52.56) following in 13th and behind McGrorty (52.61) behind him in 14th. 
 
Three Saints ran in the 5000m with two runners hitting personal-best times. Paul Schedlbauer finished in third with his personal-best time of 15:38.77 and A'Jani Stokes in fifth with a personal-best 15:56.51. Adrian Abercrombie followed them in 6th with a time of 15:58.39. 
 
Other 100m finishers for the Saints were Sam Adebonojo (11.03) in 10th, Amonyay Prichard (11.29) in 15th, Darrell Miller III (11.30) in 16th and Christian McFarlane (11.32) in 17th.
 
Caden Vann (15.61) and Sam Adebonojo (15.78) also competed in the 110 hurdles, finishing in seventh and eighth, respectively. 
 
The Flagler 4x400 relay teams took second, third and fourth in the four-team competition. The A group of Camara, Harper, Cunningham and South finished with a time of 3:24.85. The C team of Stanley, Jimenez, Hall and Belizaire earned a time of 3:30.74 and the B team (McGrorty, McFarlane, Sen and Edwards) was right behind them with a 3:30.88 finish.
 
In the field events, Prichard placed sixth in the high jump with a personal-best mark of 1.72m (5' 7.75"). The long jump saw Prichard again with McGrorty competing as well. Prichard placed fifth with a 5.94m mark and McGrorty in sixth at 5.89m. Jimenez took second in the triple jump at 13.04m. Casey Wood took first by a mere .02 meters with his 14.45m throw in the shot put. Jude Daly took home fourth with a 12.20m throw. Daly improved his discus with a personal-best throw at 35.28m, earning an eighth-place finish. Aaron Dolton wrapped things up for the Saints with a 12th place slot in the javelin, throwing for 29.76m.
 
The Saints will compete in the Peach Belt Conference Championship on April 29-30 in Daytona Beach, Fla. at the ERAU Track Complex.
