TAMPA, Fla. – The Flagler College men's track and field team competed at The Spartan Classic on Friday afternoon at Peppin Stadium.
Three Saints ran in the 100-meter race, all finishing within the top 15. Darrell Miller II finished at 9th with a time of 11.56. Christian McFarlane (11.65) and Amonyay Pritchard (11.81) finished in 11th and 14th, respectively. Those same three competed in the 200-meter this time with McFarlane finishing in 14th with a time of 23.49. Miller (23.57) finished in 15th and Prichard (23.76) in 19th.
Ian McGrorty and Malik Edwards ran in the 400-meter and finished back-to-back in seventh and eighth. McGrorty ran a time of 51.92 and Edwards at 52.14.
Four Saints competed in the 1500-meter: Joshua Sea, A'Jani Stokes, Ben Youngs and Vaughn Blanchet. Sea finished in 24th with a time of 4:14.92 and Stokes was behind him in 29th with a time of 4:20.80. Youngs (4:24.73) and Blanchet (4:33.51) finished in 32nd and 37th, respectively.
Finnian Russell ran in the 5000-meter and finished third with a time of 14:50.70. The 400-meter hurdles saw four Saints compete. David Stanley finished in second, Reuel Belizaire in third, Kruz Jimenez in fourth and Conner Hall in sixth.
McGrorty, Jimenez, Hall and Belizaire ran in the 4x400 relay for the Saints, earning a fifth place finish with a time of 3:34.47.
Up next for the Saints is the Bob Hayes Invitational at Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla. on March 15-16.
